Lao youth empowered by new career self-assessment tool
The Lao Dual-Cooperative Training Service Center is launching a campaign to promote its career self-assessment tool designed to guide young people and job seekers.
|
Representatives of the China Communications Construction Group and Lao government officials gather for the corporate open day event in Meuangfeuang district, Vientiane province. |
Available on the Lao Dual Cooperative Training (DCT) website, the occupational aptitude self-assessment (OASA) helps users explore careers that match their interests and personality.
Offered in Lao and English, the DCT targets secondary school students and anyone looking to understand their skills better or explore new opportunities, particularly in the technical and vocational education and training (TVET) sector.
This innovative tool also aims to empower Lao youth and job seekers to explore their passions and make informed decisions about their career paths.
The DCT Service Center is rolling out an engaging social media campaign to reach a broader audience.
Videos shared on Facebook and collaborations with influential Lao personalities aim to make the free career guidance tool widely used nationwide.
It is hoped that the campaign expands the tool’s reach so that more individuals across Laos can access and benefit from this free career guidance tool.
The Lao DCT website offers a wealth of resources for students and business owners, with students able to see comprehensive information about DCT courses, available training institutions, and career exploration tools.
For business owners, the website offers insights into DCT courses, their benefits for businesses, and guidance on registration for companies looking to implement DCT courses.
Additionally, the website features a robust job profile section, offering detailed information about various TVET professions.
Users can explore job requirements, potential career progression, and daily responsibilities, enabling them to align their strengths and interests with the most suitable career paths.
Complementing the OASA and job profiles, the website also provides digital resources for career development, including job search guides and tools for soft skills enhancement.
By serving as a centralised hub, the Lao DCT website aims to ensure that individuals can access all the resources they need for career advancement and success.
