I recognise the importance of this day, not only as a national holiday but also as a moment of unity and commitment to the future of this remarkable country. As we celebrate Lao National Day, I urge you all to reaffirm our shared vision and commitment. Together, we strive for a future where LXML becomes not only a leader in mining but also a model of responsible and sustainable development. Our strategic goals focus on enhancing operational efficiency, prioritising safety, and ensuring that our activities provide lasting benefits to the communities we touch,” Mr Gao said.

“Over the 49 years of the leadership of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, Lao National Day is an important day for the Party and all Lao people. Today, we celebrate the 49th anniversary of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic with joy and patriotism. It is a day that we – the Lao people – celebrate the achievements and progress made in the nation’s development and presence on the international stage,” Mr Saman said.
The Lao National Day Celebration at LXML was a joyous occasion, reflecting the spirit of unity, diversity, and progress. It is an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic and renew our commitment to building a brighter future for all.
Mr Davidson highlighted the significance of the day and the update on Sepon mine operations, saying: “I am pleased to join you today on this important day which is Lao National Day – it is the 49th anniversary of the Lao PDR and the 69th anniversary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party. Over the last 49 years, the Lao PDR has achieved significant socio-economic development and continues to grow. For two decades, LXML Sepon has strongly contributed to the development of the Lao PDR.”
“Under Chifeng’s leadership, we have ensured that these benefits continue to flow and continue to establish a strong socio-economic foundation for the life of the mine, and for life beyond mine closure.”
“This year, we have seen some real highlights with the opening of our new mining district in the Far West Prospects and record mining from our underground. However, we have also faced many challenges, with our safety performance far from where we want it to be and gold production not meeting our plans with many challenges with ore grade and recovery. I am sure that the LXML team will overcome these issues with the same positive attitude that has guaranteed our success over more than 20 years.”
The celebration of Lao National Day serves as a reminder of the significant role that LXML plays in the region’s development journey.
By aligning its business strategies with national priorities for economic diversification and community empowerment, LXML is committed to being a responsible corporate citizen and a key partner in Laos’ progress. The company looks forward to continuing its collaborative efforts with stakeholders in the years to come, contributing to a prosperous future for all.
