Seoul-Pakxe charter flights swell tourism influx
Pakse Korea Sole Co., Ltd. has launched charter flights bringing tourists from the Republic of Korea to Champassak province, with the inaugural flight from Incheon International Airport arriving at Pakxe International Airport on Saturday afternoon.
Flight RF 563, operated by Aero K Airline, carried 180 passengers, including golfers and other tourists, with the journey taking five hours.
Charter flights on this route will continue until March 19, 2025, with two flights a week scheduled on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Flights leave Seoul at 10:35am local time and arrive in Pakxe at 13:35.
A ceremony to celebrate the arrival of the first flight took place at Pakxe International Airport at 14:30 on Saturday. Those present included the Deputy Director of the Department of Information, Culture and Tourism, Sounlin Phetthani, and representatives of the provincial Department of Public Works and Transport and local travel companies.
Given the increase in the number of Koreans wishing to travel to Laos, Pakse Korea Sole Co., Ltd. is considering extending the flight agreement from May until the end of 2025.
