CPC delegation visits Laos to bolster Party ties
A delegation from the Communist Party of China (CPC) is visiting Laos from December 23-26 to strengthen Party-to-Party ties and practical cooperation with Laos.
The delegation is led by a member of the CPC Central Committee and Executive Vice President of the Central Party School of the CPC (National Academy of Governance), Comrade Xie Chuntao.
The visit is part of the 2025 cooperation plan between the two parties, with the aim of promoting the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership based on the “Four Goods” —good neighbours, good friends, good comrades and good partners.
It also furthers the creation of a Laos-China community with a shared future, and includes sharing key outcomes of the 4th Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, held in October.
On December 24, the CPC delegation paid a courtesy visit to the Secretary General of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) Central Committee and President of the Lao PDR, Comrade Thongloun Sisoulith, at the Office of the LPRP Central Committee.
Party Secretary General Thongloun warmly welcomed the delegation and spoke highly of the visit and accompanying lectures, noting their important role in further consolidating cooperation between the two parties, states and peoples.
He commended the positive progress made in implementing the master plan on building the Laos-China community with a shared future.
Laos’ Party and state leader encouraged the relevant sectors to continue to effectively fulfil the agreements made between the top leaders of both countries, including regular exchanges, sharing experiences in Party building, state governance and administration, strengthening personnel training, and expanding socio-cultural exchanges and people-to-people ties.
He said the outcomes of the 4th Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, together with China’s practical experience in socio-economic development, offer valuable lessons for Laos in planning and implementing national development agendas.
For his part, Comrade Xie Chuntao expressed sincere appreciation for the warm hospitality extended by the Lao leadership and reaffirmed China’s readiness to further deepen comprehensive cooperation with Laos across all sectors.
He pledged to faithfully implement the guidance of the Lao leadership and conveyed best wishes for the successful convening of the 12th National Congress of the LPRP, scheduled for early 2026.
Comrade Xie Chuntao also held working meetings with the Head of the National Academy of Politics and Public Administration, Mr Phouvong Ounkhamsen, and Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee’s Propaganda and Training Committee, Mr Laopaoxong Navongxay.
The Chinese delegation is scheduled to deliver a lecture on the achievements of the 4th Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee at the LPRP Central Committee Office.
The delegation will also travel to Luang Prabang province to meet provincial leaders and give more lectures, reinforcing mutual understanding and longstanding Party-to-Party cooperation.
