Chifeng Gold marks 1 million ounce gold milestone at Sepon Mine

Chifeng Gold marked a significant milestone at its Sepon Mine operations after processing one million ounces of gold since the resumption of gold mining in 2020, following the Group’s acquisition of the Sepon Mine in Savannakhet province.
The landmark figure represents an important achievement for Chifeng Gold’s operations in Laos and reflects the successful recovery, stabilisation, and growth of gold production at Sepon under Chifeng Gold’s ownership.
The occasion was formally marked at the Sepon processing plant, where a gold bar representing the one-million-ounce milestone was presented as a symbol of the Company’s achievement.

The event was witnessed by senior representatives from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, including Deputy Minister Dr Chansaveng Bounyong; Director General of the Department of Geology and Mines, Mr Bounyong Sidavong; their accompanying delegations and Savannakhet provincial authorities.
Also in attendance were members of the Lane Xang Minerals Limited Company (LXML) management team led by Acting President Mr Zhou Xinbing, together with Managing Director Mr Saman Aneka, Vice General Manager Mr Andrew Brown, and other LXML representatives.
The distinguished participants acknowledged the landmark achievement and its significance for the Lao mining sector and national economic development.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Zhou Xinbing said the milestone reflected Chifeng Gold’s strong leadership, disciplined management, and the dedication of the workforce since the restart of operations.
“Looking ahead, under the leadership of Chifeng Gold, LXML will continue to focus on safe operations, operational excellence, cost discipline, and sustainable development. I firmly believe that by working together as one team, we can achieve even greater success in the year ahead,” Mr Zhou said.
The achievement also reflects Chifeng Gold’s broader commitment to sustainable and responsible mining.
As a key operation within the Group, Sepon Mine continues to deliver value through employment, local procurement, and ongoing contributions to community development in Vilabouly district and Savannakhet province.
The milestone marking was followed by an evening celebration at the Sepon Mine site, attended by the LXML Sepon leadership team, employees, and contractors.
The event also coincided with the Company’s Christmas and year-end festivities, providing an opportunity for employees to reflect on achievements, recognise collective contributions, and strengthen unity ahead of the year to come.
As Chifeng Gold continues to expand its global presence, including becoming dual listed on the Shanghai and Hong Kong Stock Exchanges earlier this year, the Group reaffirmed its long-term commitment to operating responsibly in Laos, investing in operational capability, and delivering lasting value to the country through safe, transparent, and sustainable mining operations.
