Kuala Lumpur offers unmissable experiences during Visit Malaysia 2026
Travel between Vientiane and Malaysia is now easier than ever following the launch of direct flights between the Lao capital and Kuala Lumpur. Operated by AirAsia, flights currently operate three times a week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
After arrival at Kuala Lumpur International Airport, travel into the city is simple and cheap. Visitors can easily use ride-hailing mobile apps to get to major attractions, shopping areas, and hotels throughout the city.
Of course, top of the list on most people’s itineraries during a visit to Kuala Lumpur are the world-famous Petronas Twin Towers, which are especially breathtaking at night when they light up the skyline.

The Media Familiarisation Trip was supported by Tourism Malaysia, who invited two content creators and a journalist from Laos to participate in the programme, which was titled IFTAR Ramadan and Festival in Putrajaya, and took place from February 27 to March 3.
The programme is a part of MEGA FAM 2026 and Visit Malaysia 2026, organised by Tourism Malaysia.
Tourism Malaysia is responsible for promoting Malaysia among both international and domestic travellers. As part of their visit, Lao and other ASEAN media personnel also explored landmarks in Kuala Lumpur, including Seri Negara, Bangunan Sultan Abdul Samad, and The Exchange TRX.
With improved connectivity, affordable transport, and a wide range of attractions, Kuala Lumpur offers an easy and enjoyable travel experience for independent travellers.
From iconic landmarks and cultural markets to seasonal experiences like Ramadan bazaars, the Malaysian capital is a highlight for visitors seeking both convenience and unforgettable memories.
