Alliance Laundry Systems launches Stax-X in Asia-Pacific for SME market

Alliance Laundry Systems (ALS), a leading provider of commercial laundry equipment, has introduced its latest innovation, Stax-X, to Laos, Myanmar, and Cambodia.
The stacked washer-dryer solution is designed for first-time private investors, SME entrepreneurs, and compact-format laundry operators looking to enter or expand within the self-service laundry sector.
Built for high efficiency in a limited retail space, Stax-X delivers full commercial-grade washing and drying power in a vertically stacked configuration. It incorporates trusted ALS brands such as Speed Queen, Huebsch, IPSO, and Primus.

The machine also integrates ALS’s advanced management system, offering programmable cycles, upsell features, and flexible pricing tools to support operational performance throughout business hours.
Senior Sales Director APAC at Alliance Laundry Systems, Eddie Tay, said “Across Southeast Asia, we’re seeing a rise in microbusinesses and second-income ventures.”
“Stax-X is built for this moment—efficient, scalable, and simple to operate. It’s a smart entry point for entrepreneurs ready to grow. Stax-X is our way of supporting that growth by offering quality, performance, and simplicity in one stack.”
Micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) account for at  least 97 percent of all businesses in the Indochina region, making them the backbone of local economies, according to the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

Alliance Laundry Systems (ALS), a leading provider of commercial laundry equipment, has introduced its latest innovation, Stax-X, to Laos, Myanmar and Cambodia.

Across Southeast Asia, there are at least 71 million MSMEs, based on 2020 data from the Asian Development Bank (ADB). They represent 97 percent of all businesses and employ around 67 percent of the working population.
This figure is likely higher, as many micro-enterprises operate informally. MSMEs contribute approximately 40.5 percent to national GDPs across the region.
Industry reports also point to strong growth in Southeast Asia’s digital economy, highlighting significant opportunities for digitally enabled SMEs to thrive.
As more entrepreneurs seek sustainable, low-overhead business models—particularly in the service and franchise sectors—laundromat operations are gaining popularity due to their low staffing requirements, stable demand, and recurring revenue potential.
“With real estate costs rising, store owners need every square foot to count, and Stax-X delivers on that need without compromise, helping entrepreneurs maximise space efficiency in compact retail environments,” Mr Eddie Tay said.
Stax-X is available in two capacity variants—13kg and 23kg—both engineered for durability and reduced maintenance downtime. The system is designed to optimise the use of space, featuring a modern and professional appearance that is well suited for laundromat environments.
It also includes a flush-mounted soap dispenser, giving the machine a sleek and streamlined look. In addition, the unit is built with reduced front fasteners, allowing quicker access to key washer-extractor components and improving overall serviceability.
Its integrated washer-dryer configuration eliminates the need to transfer laundry across the store, offering greater convenience and operational efficiency.
The Stax-X is now available nationwide through ALS’s authorised distributor network. Both SSN30 and SSN50 models are offered at regional pricing aligned with other Southeast Asian markets.
