PM congratulates Thai counterpart on reappointment
Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone last week sent a formal message of congratulations to Anutin Charnvirakul following his reappointment as the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand.
In his message, Dr Sonexay conveyed, on behalf of the Lao government and people, as well as in his personal capacity, his warmest congratulations and sincere best wishes to his Thai counterpart.
He highlighted the importance of recent high-level exchanges between the two countries, including Prime Minister Anutin’s official visit to Laos on October 16, 2025.
He also noted the significance of the state visit to Laos by King Maha Vajiralongkorn and Queen Suthida this month, which he said paved the way for strengthening the longstanding friendship and cooperation between Laos and Thailand.
Prime Minister Sonexay expressed confidence that the close ties between the two neighbouring countries would continue to grow, particularly under the framework of the Strategic Partnership for Growth and Sustainable Development.
He highlighted the shared commitment to enhancing mutual trust, understanding, and cooperation for the benefit and prosperity of both nations.
The Lao premier also expressed his readiness to work closely with Prime Minister Anutin to further deepen bilateral relations and contribute to peace, stability, and development in the region and beyond.
In anticipation of the Lao and Thai New Year, B.E. 2569, Dr Sonexay wished Prime Minister Anutin good health and continued success in his duties as Thailand’s head of government.
