The drinking water and Pepsi were handed over to the Sikhottabong District Administration—represented by Mr Somxay Sengpadith and his team—which acted as the coordination hub to distribute the aid directly to the affected families.
Mr Sitthixay said the management, mass organisations, and staff of LBC worked closely with the central government and local authorities to provide and distribute the drinks. The purpose of the exercise was to ensure that everyone had sufficient clean drinking water, thereby reducing the risk of illness.
The 5,000 packs of Tigerhead and Pepsi were allocated to various administrative and support agencies. A total of 200 packs were given to the Sikhottabong District Administration, 100 packs to Naxaithong district, 200 packs to the Lao Red Cross, 150 packs to the Vientiane Military Command, and 100 packs to the 11th Infantry Command.
In Sikhottabong district, direct deliveries reached 10 villages, including 1,000 packs for Viengkham village and 900 packs for Chansavang village. Other villages, including Nongtaeng Neua, Nongniew, Phonsomboun, Tadthong and Mai, received 250 packs each, while Champa, Nongda and Phonsavath Neua received 30 packs each.
