Digital empowerment: new breakthroughs in co-constructing and sharing digital resources for vocational education

In response to the trend of digitalisation in education, the Ministry of Education and Sports of Laos, together with Chinese institutions and the Higher Education Press, jointly established the "Lao National Vocational Education Digital Intelligence Cloud Platform", which now shares resources and interoperability with China's "Smart Vocational Education" platform.
The first batch of digital course resources and bilingual textbooks has been successfully incorporated, laying a solid foundation for the construction of a China-Laos digital community for vocational education.
At the institutional level, a wide range of partnerships has been established between Lao institutions—including the National University of Laos, Polytechnic College of Laos, Lao-German Technical College, Souphanouvong University, Vientiane-Hanoi Friendship Technical Vocational College, Luang Prabang Technical Vocational College, Dongkhamxang Agricultural Technical College, and Savannakhet Health Science College—and their Chinese counterparts from Guangxi, Guangdong, Jiangsu, Jilin, Anhui, Henan, Shandong, and other provinces. Together, they are advancing the "Vocational Education Going Global" initiative.
The standards released in this phase span multiple fields, including horticultural technology, animal disease control, mechanical engineering technology, mechatronics, new energy vehicles, industrial robotics, IoT applications, nursing, traditional Chinese pharmacology, rehabilitation therapy, cross-border e-commerce, and more. They cover IVET1 to IVET4 levels, higher vocational education, and short-term training programmes.
The co-construction and sharing of digital resources inject strong momentum into the development of the China-Laos digital community for vocational education. Both sides will continue to deepen cooperation in the digital field and promote the implementation of more high-quality educational resources in Laos. --Source Wuhan Central Group
