Industry-education integration: special programmes and bilingual textbooks empower talent development
In recent years, a preliminary pattern of "government, institution, and enterprise" collaborative talent cultivation has taken shape in Lao vocational education, with a number of specialised training workshops being successively established.
Lao institutions have actively engaged in cooperation with Chinese-invested enterprises in Laos—such as Sinohydro Bureau 10 Co., Ltd., CGN Energy Technology (Laos) Co., Ltd., and CAMCE Laos Co., Ltd.—as well as local Lao enterprises. Through precise alignment with industrial needs, a favourable framework for collaborative talent cultivation involving government, institutions, and enterprises has gradually taken shape.
A series of distinctive educational programmes has been implemented through practical cooperation. These include the "Huijiang Workshop", jointly established by the National University of Laos and Fuyang Institute of Technology; the “Weir Engineer Workshop”, co-founded by Souphanouvong University and Sichuan Water Conservancy Vocational College; the “Lancang-Mekong Workshop”, advanced by the Polytechnic College of Laos and Yunnan Land and Resources Vocational College; the "Jingchu Workshop", established by the Lao-German Technical College and Xiangyang Auto Vocational Technical College; and the "Guijiang Workshop", co-founded by the Vientiane-Hanoi Friendship Technical Vocational College and Guizhou Electronic Commerce Vocational College, among others.
The digital curriculum resources released in this phase cover a wide range of specialised fields, including tropical crop cultivation, water pollution control, chemical product inspection, animal-borne diseases, geriatric care, embedded system development, acupuncture and tuina, basic nursing, building construction technology, chemical safety and clean production, and mine rescue and safety technology.
The bilingual textbooks issued during this phase focus on areas such as pet clinical examination techniques, hydraulic structures, hydraulic engineering construction technology, fundamentals of electrical engineering, and fundamentals of power systems.
China-Laos vocational education cooperation has always adhered to the principles of extensive consultation, joint contribution, and shared benefits. The two sides will continue to expand areas of cooperation and innovate cooperation models, striving for shared prosperity, joint development, and mutual growth. --Source Wuhan Central Group
