Joint Development Bank reviews business results for 2024 Q1

The Joint Development Bank (JDB) hosted a meeting to review its business operations in the first quarter of 2024 at the Landmark Mekong Riverside Hotel in Vientiane on May 2.
The meeting was chaired by the Chairman of the JDB Shareholders’ Committee, Mr Ekaphanh Phapithack, and attended by other members of the Board of Directors, advisors, senior managers and representatives of service units in Vientiane, while staff from provincial service units took part via video link.
The meeting was officially opened with a speech by JDB’s Managing Director and CEO, Mr Sakhone Yorphanxay.
Reports were presented to highlight the bank’s many successes over the past 3 months, such as securing funding sources and the use of capital. JDB has increased its assets by 10 percent from 2023; the amount of deposits compared to the plan for the 1st quarter was achieved by 22 percent; performance credit provision by 25 percent; while JDB’s business operations in the 1st quarter fulfilled 17 percent of the plan for the whole of 2024.
In addition, JDB has introduced new services on the JDB Yes Mobile Banking app to make transactions easier for customers, such as QR scanning to pay for Lao-Thai service fees at 4 banks, namely Kasikorn Thai Bank, Krungthai Bank, Krungsri Bank and Bangkok Bank, and also introduced a Lao Airlines ticket booking service on both domestic and international routes.
JDB is also developing other new services and products that will soon be available for customer use.
JDB is a modern bank with a wide range of business partners. It has provided Payment Platform payment systems to domestic and foreign e-commerce business groups such as Dynamic LAO QR, Deeplink Payment, Visa Payment Gateway, Master Card Payment Gateway, UnionPay Payment Gateway, WechatPay and AliPay.
In order to become a payment hub in ASEAN and internationally, JDB has expanded cooperation with foreign banks so that money can be transferred to more than 100 countries around the world.
