Lao Airlines​ starts direct flights​ to Guangzhou

Lao Airlines​ is starting direct flights between Pakxe and Guangzhou this Sunday, providing another travel option during Visit Laos Year 2024.
An Airbus A320 will service this route, with one flight a week departing from Pakxe on Sundays at 23:15pm and arriving in Guangzhou at 02:05am on Monday.
The return flight departs Guangzhou at 03:05am on Monday, arriving in Pakxe at 04:05am.
A special discounted price of 2,888,000 kip for a return ticket on the inaugural flight only will be offered, according to Lao Airlines. The normal price will be just over 3 million kip.
Lao Airlines has also scheduled a new route from Vientiane to Phnom Penh in Cambodia, and previously resumed flights between Luang Prabang and Changsha in China.
Meanwhile VietJet​ has initiated flights between Vientiane and Ho Chi Minh City, while AirAsia has resumed flights between Vientiane and Malaysia.
Last month, Hong Kong Airlines​ started weekly flights to Laos to meet increasing travel demand and strengthen the regional air transport network.
These new flights will bolster the number of tourists coming to Laos, especially from southern China. The number of Chinese tourists visiting Laos has increased significantly this year and last compared to past years.
In 2022, some 45,​000 Chinese tourists came to Laos, soaring to 641,314 in 2023, and in the first three months of this year 242,193 Chinese tourists spent time in Laos, according to the Ministry of Information, Culture​ and Tourism.
