CLV prime ministers commit to make Mekong, Indochina regions model of connectivity
The Prime Ministers of Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam, convened the CLV Networking meet on Thursday to discuss the strengthening of connectivity within the Sub-Mekong and Indochina regions.

The three leaders met in Vientiane as Laos hosts the 44th and 45th ASEAN Summits, where they addressed how Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam will promote regional growth and prosperity through collaborative infrastructure development and sustainable practices.
The key themes and actions include enhancing connectivity. All three leaders emphasised the critical role of connectivity—both physical (roads, railways, sea and dry ports) and digital transformation in unlocking the region’s full economic potential.
They stressed the importance of efficient logistics, harmonized regulations, and cross-border collaborations. Enhancing infrastructure investments - each nation reported significant investments in upgrading their respective infrastructures to enhance trade and economic integration within ASEAN and beyond.
This includes not only physical infrastructure but also digital platforms supporting e-commerce and financial transactions; and strengthening regional collaborations. The leaders highlighted
successful collaborative projects, such as the Laos-China Railway, and stressed the importance of regional cooperation to overcome challenges and maximise the synergistic potential of the Mekong sub-region.
Ensuring sustainable and inclusive development – this commitment to sustainable and inclusive development was a recurring theme. Leaders emphasised the need to balance economic growth with environmental protection and social equity, ensuring that the benefits of development reach all communities. The crucial role of the private
sector in driving innovation and investment was also underscored.
The three Prime Ministers expressed their commitment for continued collaborations to make the Mekong and Indochina regions a model of connectivity, innovation, and shared prosperity, ensuring the region thrives in the face of global challenges.
