President of the National Assembly visits Laos-International Precious Metals Refinery

The Laos-International Precious Metals Refinery (LIPMER) was deeply honoured to welcome President of the National Assembly, Dr Xaysomphone Phomvihane, and his delegation on an official visit to monitor operational progress and tour the refinery's production facilities in Vientiane on June 18.
This high-profile visit is a significant milestone in the development of the project. The delegation was warmly received by the Chairman and Founder of LIPMER, Dr Chanthone Sitthixay, together with the refinery's executive management team.

Dr Chanthone presented a comprehensive report detailing the background and strategic vision behind the development and establishment of the refinery.
Historically, Laos has been required to export gold in its raw form for overseas refining, resulting in a substantial loss of economic opportunities and benefits that Laos should rightfully retain.

The establishment of the Laos-International Precious Metals Refinery represents a crucial step in executing the vision of the Party and government to develop a domestic gold industry ecosystem that meets global benchmarks. This initiative enhances the value of the nation’s abundant mineral resources, unlocking the full potential of its wealth.
LIPMER is deeply committed to elevating its operations to align with the stringent global criteria of the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA).
The facility utilises advanced technological innovations, featuring state-of-the-art analytical laboratories and high-precision automated machinery. This ensures a clean production process that avoids environmental degradation and remains strictly eco-friendly.

Dr Chanthone said adherence to LBMA standards not only certifiesd the purity and quality of refined precious metals, but fundamentally builds global market trust while sharpening the competitive edge of Lao products on the international trading stage.
Following the presentation and an in-depth tour of the production process, Dr Xaysomphone praised the unwavering determination and efforts of LIPMER's executive management.

He said that establishing a high-standard refining facility with a clear objective towards LBMA certification is a major step in the right direction and represents a vital national strategy to transition from exporting raw materials to advanced domestic processing, thereby ensuring the sustainable creation of added value for national resources.
The National Assembly President said the government is fully prepared to support and facilitate the project’s seamless operations.
This backing aims to ensure that Laos possesses its own internationally certified gold refinery capable of independently advancing and upgrading the country's gold industry.
This alignment follows the strategic direction of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party to transform the nation's economic system into a robust “independent and self-reliant economy”.
