A group of 28 officials from the Agriculture and Forestry Departments of Champasak and Xekong provinces, as well as district-level representatives, attend a five-day training course on Capacity Building for Training Organisers and Assistants at the Lao-Korea Agricultural Techniques and Rural Development Service Centre, ​supported by KOICA. The course covered essential skills for professional training management, including training plan development, budgeting, participant orientation, and activity facilitation. Participants engaged in intensive sessions designed to improve their coordination capabilities and understanding of their roles as organisers. 

KOICA Laos and the Department of Livestock and Fisheries of the, Ministry of Agriculture and Environment host the Livestock Product Safety Workshop for provincial and district officials on Wednesday. The event, part of the Project for Improvement of Livestock Product Safety Management System in Laos, took place at the Laos-Korea Agricultural Techniques and Rural Development Service Centre in Vientiane. The workshop was chaired by Deputy Director General of the Department of Livestock and Fisheries, Dr Phanthavong Vongsomphanh, and attended by around 30 central and local government officials. Dr Hyeong-sik Kim, a Director of the Korea Institute for Food Safety Management Accreditation and a PMC expert from the Hankyong National University Consortium, along with the Director of the Feed and Quality Analysis Centre of the Department of Livestock and Fisheries, Mr Khanha Simmala, and an alumnus of KOICA’s Global Fellowship Programme, CIAT (Capacity Improvement & Advancement for Tomorrow), gave presentations on livestock product safety management systems and field operations in Korea and Laos. Following the presentations, they discussed future directions for improvement with workshop participants.
