President Thongloun Sisoulith on Tuesday welcomes Vietnam’s Minister of National Defence General Phan Van Giang and his delegation for their attendance at the 18th ASEAN Defence Ministers Meeting taking place in Vientiane. President Thongloun said he appreciated the working visit by General Phan Van Giang and his delegation, adding that it is an important contribution to strengthening the friendship, special unity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries. General Phan Van Giang thanked President Thongloun Sisoulith for his warm welcome and friendship. The meeting will serve to enhance the deep ties between Laos and Vietnam, and especially between their armies, he added. |

The programme commenced with opening remarks by the General Manager of the Alliance International Medical Centre, Dr Achara Changsiri, and International Business Development Executive from Bumrungrad International Hospital, Mr Say Num Khay. A spine surgeon and a urologist from Bumrungrad Hospital shared insights into common conditions, such as back pain, herniated discs, prostate health, and urinary symptoms. A panel discussion allowed participants to engage directly with the doctors and gain personalised advice, while one-on-one consultations with the visiting specialists the following day allowed patients to discuss their individual symptoms and concerns in detail. |

Head of the China Cultural Centre, Ms Li Yiping, stands with winning contestants at the “Lao People Singing Chinese Song" competition held at the National Culture Hall on Monday. The China Cultural Centre in Vientiane teamed up with the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism to organise the third competition in this series. The winner received 18 million kip and a certificate, the runner-up received 10 million kip and a certificate, and the third placed entrant was awarded 5 million kip and a certificate. |
