Lane Xang Minerals Limited Company launches Welder Quality Training Programme

Lane Xang Minerals Limited Company (LXML) is pleased to announce the success of the ongoing Welder Quality Training Programme, aimed at enhancing the skills of our welding workforce to meet both site and international welding standards.
The programme brings together participants from three key departments: the Heavy Vehicle Workshop, Project Department, and Process Plant Maintenance Department.
Led by the Sepon Welding Technical Adviser and primary instructor, Mr Greg Davison, this initiative focused on refining the skills of our welders to ensure high-quality workmanship.

Throughout this training, welders have gained in-depth knowledge of welding techniques that adhere to internationally recognised standards.
Hands-on practice during the programme not only enhanced their skills and confidence, which has also led to an increase in productivity and a reduction in rework caused by welding defects
Upon completion of the training, participants receive internationally recognised welder qualifications. Notable improvements have already been observed, with a significant reduction in the need for outsourced jobs within the Process Plant Maintenance Department.
This has resulted in the expansion of the Fabrication Shop and an increase in workforce capacity.
The Welder Quality Training Programme is an ongoing commitment to upholding site standards at LXML Sepon. By investing in our workforce, we are not only enhancing the quality of workmanship across the maintenance departments but also reducing costs and turnaround times for process piping, tank repairs, overland pipelines, and structural projects.
Training our welding operators to comply with international welding standards, such as ASME IX and AWS D1.1, has been instrumental in building a quality-driven workforce across all departments at Sepon.
As a result, our welding operators now possess a broader range of skills and are equipped to handle various welding processes and materials, making them more versatile and efficient.
Since July 2024, LXML welders have participated in a total of 167 weld tests. This comprehensive training and testing covers multiple welding processes, including Gas Tungsten Arc Welding, Flux Core Arc Welding, Stick Welding with Titanium Steel, Stainless Steels, and Carbon Steel.
LXML is actively seeking skilled welders who are committed to maintaining high productivity and quality standards, with a desire to gain international welding certifications.
We welcome passionate individuals to join our dedicated team, where they can contribute to our mission of excellence and enhance their career prospects in the booming field of welding.
