The National Commission for the Advancement of Women, Mothers and Children convenes for its 2024 plenary meeting last Friday, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Prof. Dr Kikeo Khaykhamphithoune, who is the President of the Commission. The meeting heard a summary of the Commission’s achievements, outstanding issues, and challenges experienced in 2024 and discussed the plan of work for 2025. A drafting process is underway for the 5th National Action Plan for Gender Equality, 4th National Action Plan for Mothers and Children, and the 3rd National Action Plan for the Prevention and Elimination of Violence against Women and Children, all covering the years 2026–2030.

The Blood Transfusion Centre presents labour medals and certificates of appreciation to public bodies and individuals who donated blood last year. The presentation of medals and certificates took place at a meeting held on June 12 to review the centre’s activities in 2024, attended by the President of the Lao Red Cross.
