Senior officials from the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare and invited guests gather for a meeting in Vientiane to finalise arrangements for Lao workers to take up jobs in South Korea, specifically in the fishing industry. The meeting was chaired by the Head of the Overseas Employment Department of the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare, Mr Bounchuan Sayyasin.

Residents of Vientiane receive free health checks to mark Lao Medics Day on June 18. Medical staff carried out blood glucose level tests, as well as checking people’s heart rate, eyesight, blood pressure, and general health status.

Every year, member countries of the International Olympic Committee around the world organise a walk or run to mark International Olympic Day, with Laos also sharing in these activities.
