Red Cross staff in Attapeu province on Friday hand over 567 energy-saving stoves worth 149 million kip to Nhaymeun Huameuang village authorities in Samakkhixay district, for distribution to local residents. The cooking stoves were provided under a cooperation project between the Lao Red Cross and Vietnam’s Red Cross Society and SIPCO. The use of these stoves is healthy, cheap, cleaner, and means fewer trees are felled to make charcoal, which is the traditional cooking fuel in Laos. --Photo Vatthana |
