Rain continues to cover all regions of Laos
The Meteorology and Hydrology Department has warned the public to be prepared for intermittent rain across all parts of Laos during July 10-11.
A low pressure system caused by intense heat continues to cover all regions of the country with moderate to strong intensity. Combined with the influence of the southwest monsoon, this will bring scattered to moderate rain showers, thunderstorms and occasional strong winds in some areas.
Phongsaly and Xieng Khuang provinces can expect scattered to moderate rainfall, thunderstorms and lightning in some areas, with occasional strong winds. The rain coverage is about 30 percent of the region.
Luang Namtha, Bokeo, Oudomxay, Luang Prabang and Xayabouly provinces are expected to see scattered to moderate rainfall, thunderstorms and lightning across the region, with occasional strong winds. Rain coverage is about 30 percent of the region.
Vientiane is expected to see scattered to moderate rainfall, thunderstorms and lightning, along with occasional strong winds. Rain coverage is about 40 percent.
Widespread light rain and moderate rain has been forecast for some areas in Vientiane, Borikhamxay, Khammuan and Savannakhet provinces, along with occasional strong winds. Rain coverage is about 50 percent of the region.
Xaysomboun province is experiencing scattered to moderate rainfall, thunderstorms and lightning. The rain coverage for this region is about 40 percent.
Saravan, Champasak, Xekong, and Attapeu provinces witness light rain throughout the region. There may be moderate rain in some areas along with occasional strong winds. The rain coverage for this region is about 50 percent.
Mountainous and highland areas are expected to have cool weather along with light to moderate rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning and occasional strong winds. The rain coverage for these regions is about 40 percent.
