Officials from Laos’ Ministry Public Works and Transport and Thailand’s Ministry of Transport attend a meeting to discuss the new cross-border train service between Khamsavath station in Vientiane and Krung Thep Aphiwat station in Bangkok. The meeting took place in Vientiane at the Ministry Public Works and Transport and was chaired by Deputy Minister of Public Works and Transport Mr Saysongkham Manodham and Thailand’s Deputy Minister of Transport, Mr Surapong Piyachote. The two sides discussed the general cooperation framework between Laos and Thailand and specifically the transport sector, including the transportation of passengers and freight between the two countries and the operation of the new cross-border train service. |
Floods hit parts of Meuangmuay, Huaykon and other villages in Viengkham district, Luang Prabang province, on Wednesday following days of heavy rain. The Mazda Laos GB FC U-11 football team on Monday wins the KELME Thailand Cup at the UFA Arina Stadium in Chiang Mai province, Thailand, after beating another Lao side, RNA Academy, 3-0 in the final. The Thailand Cup 2024 comprised football events for U-11, U-13 and U-15 teams. Three teams from Laos competed in the U-11 event while teams from Chiang Mai and other provinces in Thailand competed in all three divisions. |
