The event brought together invited guests who are leading Lao business executives to share their experiences in doing business, their past successes, and future plans.
The attendees, all of whom are successful individuals, discussed their business successes and shared opinions and lessons on finance, digital tools, Fintech & start ups, cryptocurrency, gold, online business, and fundraising in the Securities Exchange.
The event focused on the sharing of business experiences, making connections, sharing perspectives, and opening doors to new opportunities with executive-level businesspeople with far-reaching visions.
JDB Public’s Managing Director and CEO, Mr Sakhone Yorphanxay, gave a presentation on the vision and role of commercial banks in promoting the business sector, and the 35-year journey to public banking during which JDB’s adaptation lessons have led to business success, conveying the idea under the “vision and role of commercial banks in promoting the business sector”.
The presentation not only highlighted JDB’s role as a financial intermediary but also shone a spotlight on the bank’s long journey and adaptability, which are important lessons for every business that wants to grow sustainably.
Lessons learnt from 35 years of business operation centred on sustainability in a changing global business. JDB’s growth from its founding in 1989 to its transformation into a public bank in 2025 is a story of adaptation and far-reaching vision.
JDB has gone through a transformation from a bank shareholder by Thai investors in 2010 to a bank shareholder by Lao businessmen in 2012, and is now moving towards a public bank in 2025.
This shows that a sustainable business is one that can adapt its form and structure to respond to new environments and opportunities.
At the end of the forum, the Chairman of the JDB Public Shareholders’ Committee, Mr Ekaphanh Phapithack, gave a presentation titled ‘The leader heart of modern era’.
He highlighted the history of his business operation from the beginning to the present, saying the most important thing is to find people with knowledge and skills capable of developing the organisation.
JDB is committed to becoming a modern and international commercial bank by creating new innovations and employing qualified personnel in services.
This shows that we should have a clear vision to provide excellent services and meet the needs of customers, under the Joint Development Bank Public’s motto “ Blooming Together”, Mr Ekaphanh said.
