Biography of the visiting Vice President of Vietnam

Vietnamese Vice President Ms Vo Thi Anh Xuan will pay an official visit to Laos on August 21-22 to cement ties between the two neighbouring countries at the invitation of her Lao counterpart, Mrs Pany Yathotou.
Throughout the course of her career, Ms Vo rose from junior rankings to hold several important government positions.
Born on January 8, 1970, in Thoi Son commune, Tinh Bien district, in the southern province of An Giang, Ms Vo started out as a teacher at a high school in the province.
She became a full member of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) in 1995. In 2016, Ms Vo became Party Secretary of An Giang province and a member of the CPV Central Committee.
She was elected as Vice President of Vietnam at the 11th working session of the 14th National Assembly on April 6, 2021.
