The Lao Football Federation gave a press conference on Sunday to announce the schedule and report on teams’ participation in the AFC Women's Champions League.
The head coach of Master Football Club, Mr Voottivat Daengsamerkiat from Thailand, said some of the players picked up injuries in their previous match and would be unable to play this week, but the team was determined to put on a strong performance.
Mr Voottivat said the tournament was a great opportunity to give the players some competitive match practice and boost their confidence on the pitch, helping to develop their skills.
Master player Chaikham Yaiyapasert said the squad would do their best and reassess their tactics ahead of each match, while calling on the public to support them in their endeavours and cheer them on.
The club won the 2024 Lao Women’s League so they have high hopes of making progress in the AFC Women's Champions League.
Some of the club’s players are members of the Lao women’s U-20 team, which competed in the AFC U-20 Women's Asian Cup 2026 qualifiers, with matches held in Vientiane last week.
