In preparation for the nationwide rollout of the Spoken Lao Programme next month, officials from the Australian Embassy and Ministry of Education and Sports observed the filming of a new teacher development video in a school welcoming students from the Hmong community. Once finished, the video will demonstrate how to teach three key activities from the new Spoken Lao Programme. The programme equips teachers with the tools they need to help Grade One students who don’t yet speak Lao to build their Lao language. Australia is proud to promote inclusive education and better learning outcomes for non-Lao speaking students. Australia strongly believes that improving learning outcomes for girls and boys, especially those experiencing disadvantage, will have long-term positive outcomes for the development of Laos. --Photo Australia in Laos |
