Lao farmers complete a five-day course on cattle fattening and silage production, as part of a project to advance rural development in northern and central Laos, supported by South Korea’s KOICA. Held at the Lao-Korea Rural Development Training Centre from August 18-23, the course taught participants about modern methods of raising cattle, growing grass, monitoring the health of their animals, and disease prevention. Cattle farmers from Xieng Khuang, Borikhamxay and Vientiane provinces learned how to ferment grass for use as cattle feed. The course aimed to improve the quality and quantity of cattle raised for commercial purposes, ultimately improving agricultural practices and strengthening the economy. |
The Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism on Thursday holds a leadership and speaking skills training session for its female staff. Led by the President of the ministry’s Women’s Union, Dr Bouakhay Phengphachan, and the ministry’s Deputy Head of Office, Mr Bounpheng Suphab, assisted by trainers from the Lao Women’s Union Centre, the session aimed to enhance women’s skills in public speaking, hosting meetings, and expressing opinions, empowering them to become leaders in their field of work. |
