Congratulatory video message of H.E. PhD. Xaysomphone Phomvihane President of the National Assembly of the Lao PDR to commemorate the 47th the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) Anniversary

In this momentous occasion of AIPA’s 47th Anniversary, on behalf of the National Assembly of the Lao PDR and President of AIPA, I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to all the esteemed Speakers and Parliamentarians. It is my great pleasure to notice that over the past 47 years as the legislative body and representatives of ASEAN people’s rights and interests, AIPA has enjoyed continuous growth and played a significant role in contributing to promote peace, stability and prosperity of ASEAN.

This year, the National Assembly of the Lao PDR has the honour to host the 45th ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) General Assembly under the theme: “The Role of Parliaments in Enhancing Connectivity and Inclusive Growth of ASEAN”. I am confident that AIPA delegations will sincerely discuss and exchange views on further deepening relations and cooperation among AIPA Member Parliaments to realise the Master Plan on ASEAN Connectivity 2025 by promoting the role of digitalization in uniting and connecting the ASEAN region, fostering sustainable development and integration efforts to ensure maximum benefits for our ASEAN peoples and the World as a whole without leaving no one behind.

Once again, on this commemorative occasion, may I wish good health and longevity to honorable Speakers and Parliamentarians, more fruitful successes to AIPA as set in its objectives and goals.
