The Governance in Water and Environment to Increase Resilience & Adaptation to Climate Change project, run by HELVETAS-Laos in collaboration with Zero Waste Laos, on September 12 hosts a grant award ceremony for youth-led environmental initiatives. Five youth groups were each awarded a grant of 35 million kip, amounting to 175 million kip in total. The primary objective of the initiative is to empower young Lao people by equipping them with essential skills in project proposal writing, budgeting, project cycle management, and teamwork. The projects funded through these grants are designed to foster environmental change within local communities, addressing critical issues such as sustainable agriculture, climate change adaptation, water management, waste management, and sustainable forest management. The impact of these efforts is anticipated to benefit 12 targeted villages in Sangthong district, Vientiane.
