The establishment of the centre marks a significant step forward in enhancing scientific and technological collaboration between Laos and China. The centre is committed to advancing the research, application and standardisation of feed testing technology, providing crucial technical support and a platform for enhancing regional feed product quality and safety levels, and promoting the healthy and sustainable development of the animal husbandry sector.
The inaugural event was jointly organised by the Department of Livestock and Fisheries, Ministry of Agriculture and Environment of Laos, and China Agricultural University. Both sides have maintained close cooperation since 2019 and formalised their partnership in 2022 with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding to establish this international research centre.
Nearly 60 participants, including officials from the Department of Livestock and Fisheries, personnel from feed quality inspection institutions, and representatives of the National University of Laos and local feed enterprises, attended the inauguration ceremony to celebrate this significant event.
