Military, public security forces coordinate preparations for 50th National Day
In preparation for the grand celebration of the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic on December 2, the Ministry of National Defence and Ministry of Public Security jointly organised a parade rehearsal at the Kommadam Army Officer College in Phonhong district, Vientiane province.
The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Public Security, Lieutenant General Khamking Phuilamanivong, and Deputy Head of the Army’s General Staff Department, Brigadier General Kongthong Soukkhavong, along with committee members from both ministries, and other officials and parade participants.
The joint rehearsal was the first involving participants from the two ministries, underscoring the spirit of unity and coordination between the nation’s defence and security forces.
The session aimed to ensure thorough preparedness in all respects, including technique, discipline, physical fitness, morale, and synchronisation, so that the parade fully reflects the pride, strength and solidarity of the Lao people.
A total of 24 parade units participated in the joint rehearsal, with the Ministry of National Defence contributing 18 and the Ministry of Public Security contributing 6.
Throughout the practice, all participating units demonstrated a high degree of determination, patience, enthusiasm, and uniformity.
According to the organising committee, the strong cooperation and commitment shown during the training indicates that both forces are 100 percent ready for the upcoming national celebration.
The parade is expected to be a grand and meaningful event, showcasing not only the discipline and unity of the armed and security forces but also the remarkable growth and achievements of the Lao PDR over the past five decades.
The 50th anniversary celebration will be a historic milestone, symbolising the enduring peace, stability and progress of Laos during the Party’s leadership since the revolutionary triumph in 1975.
