Phu Bia Mining celebrates long serving employees

Phu Bia Mining (PBM) celebrated 416 long-serving employees for their great contributions to the Company’s business at ceremonies held at the Phu Kham Copper-Gold and Ban Houayxai Gold-Silver Operations.
There were 316 and 100 employees who received a long service award for either their 10- or 15-year service.
This is the ninth Long Service Awards which supports our vision to create a diversified, multi-cultural and responsible business while delivering sustainable value. We believe that our people are at the heart of who we are, what we do and how we achieve successful outcomes.
At Phu Bia Mining, we support our people through competitive remuneration packages, a range of detailed in-house training programmes and external professional development opportunities to increase their knowledge and skills.

PanAust Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr Daling Zheng, congratulated our employees, noting their outstanding contributions and dedication to Phu Bia Mining’s Operations.
Mr Zheng said: “Our employees receive the highest recognition for their contributions at our Laos Operations. Their day-to-day efforts enable our business continuity and continued success, which also make our workplaces safe and great places to work. Congratulations to all of our long serving award recipients and we look forward to welcoming more employees achieving their 10- and 15-year milestones in 2024.”
Phu Bia Mining Chairman, Mr Chanpheng Bounnaphol, added: “Phu Bia Mining is so proud of our localisation strategy that aims to build the capacity of local communities.
We continue to employ 93 percent of Lao-national employees and many of them have achieved their 10- or 15-year service. On behalf of the company’s management, we extend our thanks and value their contributions as they mark their long-standing milestones and achievements.” Environment Superintendent Han Chanthavong achieved his 10-year milestone with Phu Bia Mining while contributing his knowledge and skills to maintain our world-class environmental management and monitoring practices.
Han said: “I commenced with Phu Bia Mining conducting environmental management and monitoring activities. Over the past 10 years, I have progressed in my career from a junior role to a superintendent level. This has been thanks to a range of in-house and external professional development and training programmes supported by the Company.
“Phu Bia Mining is a great place to work. I have gone from no mining knowledge and expertise to learning and applying international best practice environmental management and monitoring practices. I am thankful that my career is rich and rewarding, enabling my ability to learn and develop further,” Chanthavong added.
