The festival featured stalls selling products from Asean countries, a concert and other activities. |
Mr Kingphokeo Phommahaxay (right) last week presents his credentials to King of the Netherlands, Mr Willem-Alexander, at Noordeinde Palace, accrediting him as the new Ambassador of the Lao PDR to the Netherlands. Mr Kingphokeo said he deeply appreciated the good relationship and cooperation between Laos and Netherlands, which established diplomatic ties in 1975. |

A high-level delegation from Laos, led by Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Mrs Phonevanh Outhavong, attends the 7th Asian and Pacific Population Conference in Bangkok, Thailand, from November 15‑17. The delegation’s attendance was supported by the UNFPA. The key objectives of the conference were to review of the progress made towards implementing the Asian and Pacific Ministerial Declaration on Population and Development adopted in 2013 and the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development, as well as discussions on achievements, challenges, gaps and emerging issues in implementing the Asian and Pacific Ministerial Declaration. |
Government officials and development partners pose for a photo during the Lao One Health University Network (LAOHUN) celebration for Raising Awareness of One Health Day and World Antimicrobial Awareness Week. The event took place at the University of Health Sciences, Dongphosy Campus on November 28. Those attending the ceremony included the President of UHS, Dr Bounthom Somontry; Vice President of UHS and President of the Lao One Health University Network, Professor Mayfong Mayxay; Adviser on Infectious Diseases and Disability Development from the United States Agency for International Development, Dr Thipphason Visaysouk; and representatives from Developmental Co-ordination Disorder, the World Health Organisation, National Animal Health Laboratory, Lao Tropical and Public Health Institute, and the Lao-Oxford-Mahosot Hospital-Wellcome Trust Research Unit, as well as professors and students from the National University of Laos, University of Health Sciences, Souphanouvong University, Champassak University and Savannakhet University. |

Annual Evaluation Meeting on five agricultural cooperative projects implemented by Korea Partnership for Innovation of Agriculture (KOPIA) Center in Lao PDR and National Agriculture and Forestry Research Institute (NAFRI) was held in S Vangvieng Boutique Hotel meeting room on December 7, with 30 participants including Project Investigators, NAFRI researchers and KOPIA Center staff as well as Project Steering Committee Members as an evaluator. |
