Government officials attend a Public Investment Management (PIM) Improvement Steering Committee meeting in Vientiane on December 12, to discuss improvement of the management of public investment projects and capital expenditure. The committee discussed the implementation of the PIM Action Plan for 2022-2030 and expected activities for the coming year. The committee also discussed a proposal for the PIM Intensive Training Programme 2025, which includes a training package for the provinces and Vientiane and a separate one for central government bodies. Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Mrs Phonevanh Outhavong said highly efficient and effective public investment projects are one of the government’s goals to promote quality development and boost the economy under the NSEDP10 (2026-2030).

During their visit to Laos on Monday, members of the Hunan province commerce council in China donate 100 million kip to the President of the Lao Front for National Development, Mr Sinlavong Khoutphaythoune (fifth right), to assist people in northern Laos who suffered losses and hardship as a result of flooding in September. --Photo Pasaxon

Suppliers and business partners who donated supplies to flood victims in Luang Namtha province join Lao Brewery Co., Ltd. (LBC) staff for a photo at a ceremony on December 6 to present them with certificates. This marked the second donation effort, with contributions totalling more than 139 million kip. The certificates were presented by LBC’s CA, CSR & Sustainability Director, Sithixay Ketthavong, to Champa Enterprise, Bangkok Terminal, Media Full Service Advertising, Smart Event Organisation, Target, Dethnakhone Transport Within & Abroad Sucking General & Sand Sole Co., Ltd., Indee Event, Phetaloun Logistics Company, BCL Logistics Company Limited, and LBC’s product sales representative, Mr Joy Chanphom. The awards expressed LBC’s gratitude to suppliers and business partners for recognising the importance of community support and contributing to the relief effort for flood victims in Luang Namtha province. LBC’s board of directors has prioritised supporting communities affected by disasters, with the first donation made in September this year. This included the provision of Tigerhead drinking water worth 300 million kip, followed by a second donation valued at more than 139 million kip.
