Thailand thanks Laos for cave rescue efforts

Thai Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-o-cha last week sent a letter to his Lao counterpart Prime Minister ThonglounSisoulith to extend thanks from Thai government and people to the Lao government and people on the rescue mission for 13 young Thai footballers.
In the letter, General Prayuth, representing the royal government and people of the Kingdom of Thailand, expressed the sincere thank to the Lao government and people for the assistance offered by the Lao government and officials in rescuing the 13 young Thai footballers and coach, who were trapped in ThamLuang Cave in Chiang Rai province from June 23 until their rescue.
Gen Prayuth expressed appreciation to the Foundation for Assisting Poor People of Laos and all members of 1623 rescue team whom he said concentrated all physical and mental strength for the planning and implementing the critical task until the 13 people were located on July 2 which brought the happiness to the entire Thai nation and beyond.
“The troubles and assistance offered through sending the rescuers from the Lao PDR to the searching mission have shown the strong friendship ties and amity between the two peoples, who are ready to share sorrows and happiness forever,” the Thai PM said through the unofficially translated letter.
