Building a better future with tech: World Knowledge Forum second day

SOUTH KOREA, Seoul:  Building a better future with technology was one of the stimulating topics debated by experienced speakers on the second day of the World Knowledge Forum taking place here from September 25-27.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the forum hosted by the Maekyung Media Group of South Korea, with over 200 leaders from the political, economic, business and technology sectors attending.
During his opening speech on the second day, Ban Ki-moon, the 8th Secretary-General of the United Nations and Co-Chair of the World Knowledge Forum, told participants that innovative strategies are needed to improve healthcare and education, spur economic growth, and tackle climate change through partnerships-cooperation with governments, the business sector and civil society, in order to leave no one behind.
Ban Ki-moon joined the President and Chief Strategy Officer of Samsung Electronics, Young Sohn, and Founder of the World Knowledge Forum and Chairman of the Maekyung Media Group, Chang Dae-whan, to exchange views on how innovators and partners could work together with global leaders to build a better future with technology entering the 5G era.
Other speakers explained the future of 5G and how to move on from the 4G era. They noted that 5G is fundamental to what comes next, a unified connectivity fabric to fuel a new era of innovation, how 5G is driving economic growth, and also creating economic benefits as it is expected to roll out faster than 4G.
In addition, those attending the forum in the Jangchung Arena yesterday learned firsthand how to prosper from successful female entrepreneurs Jo Malone CBE, Founder and Creator of Job Loves, Thai Huong, Founder and Chairwoman of the Strategy Committee of TH Group, and Suphajee Suthumpun, Chief Executive Officer of the Dusit International Group.
Speakers and participants will continue to discuss various agendas at the forum today under this year’s theme of “Knowledge Revolution 5.0: Perspicacity Towards Prosperity for All”.
