Phongsavanh Group supports government’s service to society

The Phongsavanh Group (PSVG) and its members on December 27 handed over six ambulances worth 3,439,800,000 kip to the Lao government at the Prime Minister’s Office.
The ambulances, which will support the government’s overall work to benefit society, were presented by the Group’s Vice President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Petroleum Trading Lao Public Company, Mr Chanthone Sitthixay, together with Phongsavanh Bank Managing Director, Mr Phaiboun Phongsavanh, and received by the Minister and Head of Office of the Prime Minister’s Office, Mr Khamjane Vongphosy.

The current situation has given rise to various needs with regard to urgently transporting people involved in accidents and other emergencies to the appropriate hospital.
PSVG is concerned about local people’s health during times of illness and wishes to ensure they are treated properly and quickly.
“In 2021, PSVG made donations worth more than 4,186 million kip, including these six ambulances worth 3,439,800,000 kip,” PSVG noted. “Other donations provided support for important national events.”
PSVG has always been concerned about people’s health and living conditions. Every year the Group donates relief materials, including medical supplies and consumer products, to help people affected by floods, drought, cold weather, and disease outbreaks.
Donated items have included clothing, drinking water, rice, canned fish, cakes, noodles and other essentials.
The Group has also donated goods to government bodies, such as the National Taskforce for Covid-19 Prevention and Control, and to hospitals in Vientiane and the provinces for use in the provision of medical services to the general population.
It has also contributed to the State and Party’s health-related work to provide better healthcare services. Donations have included medical equipment, medicines, consumer goods, food, educational and sports equipment, and cash.
The Group has also given ambulances with medical equipment to hospitals so that they are better equipped to cope with patients involved in accidents and other emergencies.
PSVG also works to ensure that people with severe illnesses are treated properly and urgently without having to pay any fees.
It has donated money and materials to ministries, organisations and local authorities, built schools, renovated temples, supported programmes to prevent drought and flooding, and backed national sports events.
PSVG has made effective contributions to Laos’ socio-economic development, poverty eradication programmes, human resource development and quality of life improvement, and has contributed significantly to various aspects of societal well-being.
It contributes strongly to national revenue every year and, increasingly, has been involved in business and education cooperation with companies in Laos and other countries, media development, and cooperation with state sectors for poverty reduction in remote areas.
PSVG also provides easy and simple credit policies for government officials, soldiers, police, and local people to support small business operations and family businesses, which help to boost income generation and poverty reduction with the purpose of improving quality of life.
Acknowledging these achievements, the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and the government recently awarded a National Medal of Outstanding Development to PSVG.
The Group has also received an Honorary Medal of Excellent Business Operations known as the Europe Business Assembly Award, Labour Medals (Classes I, II, and III), Certificates of Admiration, and Honorable Certificates from the government.
