BYD-Hand Sanitizer provides medical equipment for Covid-19 response

BYD-Hand Sanitizer (MOK CO LTD-BYD) has provided medical equipment worth more than US$ 5.7 million to support Laos’ efforts to cope with any further outbreak of Covid-19.
The equipment included Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for medical staff, surgical masks and gloves, goggles, hand sanitisers and hand washing gel. The firm mobilised a lot of resources from overseas and donated 47 containers of alcohol-free hand sanitisers to Laos.

The ceremony to hand over the equipment was held in Vientiane this week. The event was attended by the Deputy Minister of Health, Dr Phayvanh Keopaseuth, the President of BYD-Hand Sanitizer Company, Mrs Mangko Van, and senior officials of the ministry and the company.
Speaking at the ceremony, Dr  Phayvanh said the Lao side will make full use of the intellectual support and material assistance from the company, and will try its best to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
Over the past two years, the government has worked tirelessly to combat the disease and protect the Lao people, he said. “I believe that if we work together with the company, we will definitely defeat Covid-19,” he added.
Mrs Mangko said her company, as the authorised distributor of MOK CO LTD-BYD in Laos, is honoured  to contribute to the country’s campaign against Covid-19.
Noting that the company was established in Laos in 2019, she said: “Although we began to face the huge impact of Covid-19 at that time, we did not give up. During the two years of the pandemic, our company worked together with the Lao people and tried our best to fight the Coronavirus.”
She added, “When there was a shortage of masks, we transported a large number of masks from China. We hope that the Lao people can persist with daily prevention measures.”
Mrs Mangko also highlighted the importance of working with the Lao government to fight Covid-19 and protect the people.
At the same time, BYD Auto, as a world leader in new energy vehicles, hopes to promote green and environmentally friendly automotive products in Laos and provide the people with a better choice that is modern, intelligent, and cost effective.
“Amid this global pandemic, we can see that we need to protect the earth together. Protecting where we live every day starts with a low-carbon life,” she said.
