Advertising Terms & Conditions
The Vientiane Times is the leading English newspaper in the Lao PDR. It was officially launched as a tabloid size on April 7, 1994.
If you advertise your business or your products via the website and in our newspaper, you will benefit in many ways because readers around the world will access information from your advertisement. Your products will have entered an international market.
Submission of materials, insertion orders, and verbal and nonverbal space reservations constitute acceptance of the following conditions of the publisher.
1. Contract. These Terms and Conditions together with the accompanying form signed by the advertiser constitutes a binding agreement between the Advertisers identified in the contract and the Vientiane Times as publisher.
2. Paper Advertisements
Advertisements in the tabloid size of Vientiane Times will reach hundreds of thousands of readers, both within Laos and around the world. Sizes ranging from 1/20 to full page black-and-white or colour are offered at reasonable prices.
3. Online Advertisements
Advertising your business via Vientiane Times websites will give your business international exposure. If you have your own website, we can help you by linking it with our website, and your web logo will be placed on our home page: www.vientianetimes.org.la/
4. Advertising. The Advertiser shall purchase the online advertising package at the rate listed, and for the duration specified, in the accompanying form signed by the advertiser.
5. Payment. Advertisers shall make payment in advance or within 07 days of the billing date indicated on the invoice. Vientiane Times reserves the right to request full or partial payment before publishing any advertisement and to cease publishing any advertisement when payment for previous advertising is more than 30 days overdue.
6. Cancellation. Advertisements scheduled for insertion may be cancelled by the Advertiser, but the Advertiser must inform the publisher three days before the date of scheduled publication. If not, the advertiser is responsible for the entire cost of publishing the advertisements.
7. Rejection of Advertisements. Notwithstanding anything in this contract to the contrary, the Vientiane Times reserves the right to reject or cancel any advertisement at any time if it does not conform to the regulations and laws.
8. Force Majeure. Neither party shall be held responsible for delay or failure in performance under this Contract caused by fire, flood, strikes, terrorism, work stoppages, breakdown of equipment, government action, internet or website downtime, or other causes beyond the affected parties' reasonable control.
9. Refund. If your advertisements are not published in our newspaper or website but you have already paid us, you can send us a request for a refund not more than 15 days after the omission.
10. At any time and place around the world you can pay us using the following cards: BCEL China UnionPay, VISA, MasterCard, JCB, American Express, China UnionPay and QR Codes: BCEL Onepay, UnionPay, WeChat Pay and Alipay
11. Customers can make checks payable to the Vientiane Times or transfer the money using an accepted bank card to (US$) A/c 010110100989471001 or (kip) A/c 010110000989471001 at the Bank pour le Commerce Exterieur Lao (BCEL). If you have already transferred your payment, please fax or email the payment receipt to the Vientiane Times address as written below.
